The report is called for a UK ban on plastic waste exports and said that it plans to have 90% of its current plastic waste exports recycled domestically once its Avonmouth plastic reprocessing plant becomes operational. The site is set to have a capacity to reprocess 80,000 tonnes of plastics a year.

Its Closing the Loop: Viridor’s roadmap to a truly circular economy report calls for a ban on EPS, PVC and oxy-degradable plastics. The company argued that these materials are “among the most challenging products to recycle and should be entirely excluded from the plastics packaging market unless there is no realistic alternative”.
